Ok, it’s technically spring but here in Columbus we’ve had a number of chill days. Nevertheless, to welcome in spring, here are a number of haiku celebrating the season. it won’t be long before gardens are rich with blossoms.

early spring

she’s waiting for

the bloom and scent of roses

strolling ease

of spring’s first day

hand in caring hand

springtime carousel

the melody

of horses

chill rain morning

children laughing

crisp half-spring

the last snowflake

treetop cardinals

call and response

crimson liturgy

leave me alone

I’ll leave you alone

spring hornet’s nest

we sleep

the garden grows

all night

ecstatic sway

of maple branches

pay attention

arcing flight

of springtime geese

their glad cacophony
